Invertebrate Tracks And Trails

Invertebrate tracks and trails--trace fossils--on a slab of quartzitic shale from the Lower Cambrian Daylight Formation at Daylight Pass, Boundary Canyon, Death Valley National Park. The Daylight Formation can be correlated stratigraphically with the Lower Cambrian Wood Canyon Formation of the Death Valley region. Don't ask me just how hard the wind was blowing through Daylight Pass while this photograph was taken. I had to hang on for dear life to prevent being hurled through the pass along with myriad dust particles, rocks and sundry boulders (perhaps an exaggeration, but not by much--the boulders were not very large).
