Rogers Lake Beds

Here is a panorama of a portion of the ancient late Pleistocene Lake Rogers basin; the whitish to tan exposures in the lower center of image consist of fine sands, silts and clays that were washed into the Lake Rogers basin some 15 thousand years ago; today, these rather poorly consolidated sediments belong to a geologic unit called the Rogers Lake Beds. Mountains in the background are dominantly Paleozoic Era dolomites, limestone, shales and quartzites.
