Zabriskie Point

Two early morning views southwest (top) and generally northwest (bottom) from Zabriskie Point. The badlands have been carved in the Middle Miocene Furnace Creek Formation. Mountains in distance are part of the Panamint Range. Zabriskie Point was named in honor of Christian B. Zabriskie, a long-time official with the Pacific Coast Borax company.
