20 Mule Team Canyon

Looking northeast atop a high hill in 20 Mule Team Canyon. Yellowish tan to golden strata in foreground belong to the Middle Miocene Furnace Creek Formation in 20 Mule Team Canyon. In the distance is the rugged Funeral Range, rich in Paleozoic Era prehistory.

Here, the view is roughly southwestward in the heart of 20 Mule Team Canyon; yellowish-golden hill in foreground is composed of the Middle Miocene Furnace Creek Formation. Reddish-brown rocks in the mountain along the skyline are primarily Miocene-Pliocene volcanics and associated sediments in the Amargosa Range.
