Mesquite Spring Campground, only a few miles southwest of Scotty's Castle, makes an excellent base of operations for explorations of northern Death Valley National Park. It is the only major campground in the park that remains open year-round. At top the view is eastward from Mesquite Spring Campground to clouds billowing over the Grapevine Mountains; at bottom is a look westward from the camp to the eastern face of the Panamint Mountains. |
