| Here's a mostly complete trilobite. Collected from the Lower Ordovician Al Rose Formation, Inyo County, California. Called scientifically, gernus Globampyx. The Al Rose Formation yields several species of Early Ordovician trilobites; in the specimen above, the distinctive reddish-brown coloration is due to preservation by the iron mineral limonite. |
