| The Oligocene to roughly Middle Miocene Artists Drive Formation exposed along the dirt road through Artists Drive. Several species of diatoms, microscopic single celled plants that secreted an opaline silica test, have been recovered from a few of the more clay and silica-rich lacustrine facies of the formation. |
