Echo Canyon


In Echo Canyon, the trail cuts through thick, geologically sculpted accumulations of the Middle To Late Cambrian Bonanza King Formation, a roughly 520 million-year-old marine deposit that contains local concentrations of trilobite fragments, sponge remains, plus the curious, distinctive oval to circular Girvanella, an extinct variety of blue-green algae.
