| Here are several rock carvings, or petroglyphs, on the surface of a volcanic basalt boulder at Petroglyph Canyon in Death Valley National Park. They were created by aboriginal North Americans during a time when the climate at Death Valley was wetter and milder and probably fully salubrious--several thousand years ago, at least, one would suspect. |
