Wildrose Charcoal Kilns, Death Valley National Park

A young visitor inspects one of the world-famous Charcoal Kilns along Wildrose Canyon, Panamint Mountains, Death Valley National Park. The kilns produced fuel for a silver smelter at the Modoc Mine in Panamint Valley from 1876 to 1878, then were completely abandoned.
