Orange-to reddish brown, elongated specimens embedded in the matrix (veneer of siltstone covering a chunk of limetone) are archaeocyathids (an extinct variety of calcareous sponge) from the lower Cambrian Harkless Formation, Esmeralda County, Nevada.
