| Conifer branches from the upper Cretaceous portions of the Moreno Formation, as recovered from strata situated near the western edge of California's Great Central Valley. Called scientifically, Margeriella cretacea--an extinct conifer with no known living counterpart, though it shows some botanic similarities to the Cupressaceae--the Cypress family.
